We've been doing some analysis on how users at top law firms in the UK and USA are using LinkedIn, using data from LinkedIn itself.

Amongst the interesting findings are that 42% of fee-earners in the UK have created LinkedIn profiles (60% in the USA), and that nearly 1 in 5 has built a network of at least 25 connections (in the USA, it's 1 in 3).
